Samsung provides July 2024 update to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Fold4, Flip 5 and Fold 5 smartphones

Samsung is aggressively rolling out the July 2024 security patch for eligible devices, and the company has already introduced the update to most of the popular Galaxy smartphones, including Galaxy S24, Galaxy S22 and many more; now expanding it, the company has started serving the update to more foldable smartphones.

Notably, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are receiving July 2024 updates in Canada. For identification, users can check the below firmware version numbers:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 –  F946WVLS4CXG2
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5  –   F731WVLS4CXG2
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4  –  F936WVLS6FXG2
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4  –   F721WVLS6FXG2

With the July 2024 security patch update, Samsung hasn’t introduced any significant changes to the devices. However, the update still provides some internal functional changes to strengthen their security.

According to the official documentation, the July 2024 update will provide more than 60 patches, and here, Google has introduced 27 patches to address the issues found in the Android OS.

Along with this, Samsung introduced 33 more patches, enabling Samsung Galaxy smartphones to be less vulnerable. This time, the company has also exclusively introduced two more patches to address issues related to the semiconductor chip.
