Samsung to be End Relationship with BTS Suga

Samsung is planning to step back from the endorsement deal with the BTS rapper Suga, as he’s under investigation for driving under the influence.

A well-known BTS rapper, Suga, serves as a brand ambassador for Samsung. Now, due to finding himself at the center of controversy following a DUI scandal, it seems that he is at risk of losing his endorsement deal amid the ongoing investigation.

However, the brand has yet to officially announce anything regarding this. BTS has been the face of Samsung for years, boosting its global presence among its massive fan base. Meanwhile, now the Korea Herald reported that a Samsung insider hinted at a possible change in brand ambassadors.

The report reported that an unnamed source stated to the outlet, “There is a risk in promoting someone as a brand ambassador who has caused a social controversy, regardless of the person’s fandom.” It also mentioned that Samsung is highly anticipated to break its deal with the K-pop star since the situation is quite serious and they need to ensure it over carefully.

The Korean tech giant has yet to confirm whether it will lose its endorsement deal. Apart from all this, if the report is to be believed, Samsung is unlikely to remove Suga from its promotional activities due to his DUI scandal. The company has an exclusive contract with the entire BTS group, while BTS has made clear that Suga will not be leaving the group anyway.

Regarding this matter, it was already reported that Samsung Germany removed advertisement photos featuring Suga that had been posted on their X accounts.
