Samsung to integrate Galaxy Ring with SmartThings and Activate Routines

Samsung introduced its first-ever wearable smart ring named Galaxy Ring a couple of months ago. Now the brand is looking forward to expanding the functionality of the ring by allowing users to control their smart home devices and activate preset routines simply by wearing the ring.

The Korean tech giant showcased the Galaxy Ring’s integration with SmartThings at IFA 2024. The demo demonstrated how users could activate preset routines, for instance, nighttime routines, with a simple wave of their hand. This showcased the possible feature of the Galaxy Ring to make home management quite automated and convenient.

The sleep tracking feature of the Galaxy Ring is quite efficient since it will be able to automatically activate the smart home’s nighttime routine instantly when the ring detects that you have fallen asleep.

This means that you can effortlessly turn off the lights, lower the blinds, or adjust the temperature without even any physical effort. However, this feature doesn’t seem enough to convince everyone; it points out the company’s commitment to making the Galaxy Ring increasingly useful and innovative.

However, the company has yet to reveal the exact date for the Galaxy Ring’s integration with SmartThings. Samsung is aggressively working on upgrading the user experience, suggesting that this feature could be quite a beneficial step towards more AI and automated home management.
