Samsung always aims to make the security and innovations of the entire Galaxy ecosystem its topmost priority, and that’s where the company leads from the front when it comes to providing software updates to its Galaxy phones, tablets, and wearables; meanwhile, Galaxy devices receive software updates, but not forever; thus, here is the list of Galaxy models who will not get any additional update from now on (2024).
Like other Android partners, Samsung too follows a dedicated software update policy for its phones and provides software updates accordingly. But everything has its end, and so for the software updates as well, which means the phone stops getting any further software updates once they meet their eligible update deadline.
Samsung has made some significant changes within its software update scope for the good sake of its Galaxy audience. Before 2022, the Galaxy phones were eligible for 3 maximum OS updates with 4 years of security patches, while after 2022, amidst a few changes, the company decided to provide 4 major OS and 5 years of security updates to the Galaxy flagships and mid-tier phones.
Thus, things finally changed with the arrival of flagships, the Galaxy S24 series, when Samsung eventually made a massive move by offering huge 7 years of both major OS and security updates to its flagships. In contrast, there are some Galaxy phones that have reached their update deadline and are no longer eligible to get any further software updates from 2024.
