Samsung is looking forward to setting a new bar in the tech industry by offering six major Android OS updates to its future mid-range devices. The Galaxy A16 5G is the next mid-range in the line to debut and get six years of major Android OS support.

Samsung adopted seven years of major Android OS updates and seven years of security patch schemes early this year with the Galaxy S24 series. Although Google is also offering the same long-lasting software policy to its Pixel devices.

Now Samsung is setting up to bring a new revolution in the tech industry by offering six years of long-lasting software support to its upcoming mid-range devices. The company could launch the Galaxy A16 5G device by the end of this year. However, the leaked renders of the device have already revealed its design.

According to thetechoutlook the Galaxy A16 5G will receive six major Android OS updates and six years of security patches. It is speculated by a series of slides used for training sales representatives.

However, Samsung has yet to reveal anything official regarding this report. In case the report comes true, then it will be beneficial to change the brand will offer, especially at an affordable price. If this happens, it will be a new revolution in the Android ecosystem, as most entry-level phones get a maximum of two major Android OS updates.

The coming Galaxy A16 5G features a plastic body and Key Island design. It could be 7.9 mm thick. Samsung could offer Blue Black, Gold, and Light Green colour options.

The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and up to 800 nits of peak brightness. It will be powered by a 5 nm Exynos 1330 processor, featuring two Cortex-A78 CPU cores and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores. The company will also introduce it in another variant, which will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chip.

The memory package will include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will have a 5000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port but not the 3.5mm headphone jack. It seems that the company is removing a dedicated headphone port even from its entry-level devices.
