Samsung’s Galaxy Avatar Brings AR Magic to One UI 7

Samsung successfully hosted its SDC24 event. As expected, Samsung announced major coming innovations to upgrade its overall ecosystem. One of the most notable parts of the conference is the coming One UI 7, which will bring a new feature called Galaxy Avatar.

Samsung announced its Android 15-based One UI 7 beta version for developers. It scheduled the stable version for the update to 2025. However, Samsung has a Galaxy S24 Ultra running One UI 7.0 on exhibition at SDC 2024.

Undoubtedly, the One UI 7 will bring dozens of new advanced features, outstanding animation, improvements, a new set of icons, and more. Apart from these novelties, the update will bring an advanced features menu and a new tool called Galaxy Avatar. It allows you to create personalized avatars with the help of AI and AR. Noticeably, along with still images, it lets you create avatar videos.

The tool includes several options, such as Avatar Stickers and Avatar Camera, suggesting an AR-based feature. You can also design new outfits for your avatar. However, the company has already introduced a similar feature with its AR Emoji app.

However, it has yet to be exactly clear whether the Galaxy Avatar is a rebranding novelty of AR Emoji or if Samsung is readying something new. Since One UI 7 is anticipated to bring a lot of changes and twerk, it could be possible that it rename the already existing AR tool by Galaxy Avatar.
