At the SDC24, Samsung introduced a new SmartThings service, Home Insight. Samsung Electronics Co. is collaborating with Ashley Home Store to expand its SmartThings IoT platform. They will open a flagship store in Tennessee on October 19.
Samsung said it will open the duo’s flagship store, Samsung SmartThings Home at Ashley, on October 19 in Brentwood, near Nashville, Tennessee.
The new collaboration offers a smart home experience integrating furniture with Samsung’s smart appliances and devices. Customers will be able to purchase both furniture and Samsung products at the store.
The company has demonstrated how SmartThings works in multiple spaces; for instance, kitchens, home offices, and bedrooms. Soon people can enjoy viewing art on Samsung’s lifestyle TV, The Frame. Samsung is looking forward to introducing new TVs equipped with SmartThings Hubs with the support of Matter, the global smart home connectivity standard.
The Korean tech giant said its SmartThings app is compatible with over 3,800 devices from 340 brands, including smart plugs, door locks, and bulbs. It is gearing up to expand the availability of its SmartThings services to other home appliances.
Samsung announced that Home Insight permits users to monitor and control their home at a glance through the SmartThings app. Noticeably, the app’s AI analyzes the user’s appliance and furniture usage patterns and gives an alert. It has integrated products from its partners such as Kohler, IKEA, and Ashley into the SmartThings ecosystem through the global IoT standard Matter. Soon Samsung will integrate its overall ecosystem for its major products under the same title, One UI.
