Galaxy Tab S10 Series to receive Seven Quarterly Software updates
Samsung recently debuted its latest tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab S10 series, with seven years of long-lasting software support. However, the frequency of security updates remains the same four times per year.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series includes two devices: the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. It is the first Galaxy tablet series to receive seven years of software support. The Korean tech giant has updated its official support page regarding the software updates, which showcases the details of all updates for Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
Noticeably, the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are listed under the “Current Model for Quarterly Security Updates” section. This means that both tablets will receive the major Android security updates to these devices only once every three months a year.
However, it’s not surprising, since Samsung already followed the same strategy to release security patches for its previous Galaxy tablets. Since Samsung promised to offer seven years of software support to the newly launched tablets, somewhere it was expected that Samsung would offer the security patches in the same manner as it offers to its smartphones.
Samsung ditched the hopes of users as they are expecting regular security updates, just like smartphones. But that is not the actual case, since the Galaxy Tab S10 series will receive quarterly security updates.
