Samsung is rolling out the October 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in some European regions and the US.
With the continuous distribution, Samsung is gradually covering the major markets, while the company’s current Z Series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 have started receiving the October 2024 security update that significantly addresses several security vulnerabilities and other bugs.
The October firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 has F956BXXS1AX13 and F741BXXS1AXI3 firmware versions and weighs almost 400 to 500MB.
On the other side, the US carrier-locked (USCellular) Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 also get the same update, carrying the F956USQS1AXIB and F741USQS1AXIB version numbers.
As already detailed in the latest October 2024 security bulletin, Samsung significantly addresses several high-level and critical security-focused vulnerabilities, where plenty of them are exclusive to Galaxy phones. In addition, the update also focuses on several key improvements to the device’s overall security to offer a more safe and secure experience to the users.
Since this latest update is just a security and bug-fixing update, it doesn’t pack any new features or changes. Meanwhile, the update is full of some relevant enhancements to the device’s functionality, resolves bugs, adds stability to the system behavior, brings optimizations to the device’s performance, and applies the latest security patches all while keeping the device secure.
This in turn is helpful in getting a more stable, smooth, and optimized software experience to the users. By contrast, the aforementioned security patch is rolling out in Europe, while it should follow the other eligible regions in the future.
