Samsung Galaxy S25 series is supposed to debut in early 2025. Now the camera details of the device surfaced online, revealing the sensors for the main cameras.
The coming Galaxy S25 series is expected to bring a new revolution in the tech market. The Ultra variant of the series, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is expected to feature a new 1-inch 200MP ISOCELL image sensor for the main camera. The rest of the two variants, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, are expected to feature a combination of Sony’s LYTIA camera sensors. This departure from the company’s long-standing reliance on its own ISOCELL sensors suggests a commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobile photography.
Reportedly, the only camera-related hardware the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to receive has to do with its ultra-wide camera. Ice Universe claims that Samsung will upgrade from the old 12MP one to a new 50MP Isocell JN3 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 0.7-micrometer pixel size.
The Isocell JN3 sensor, yet to be released, promises impressive wide-angle capabilities for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While the Isocell HP2 remains a top-tier sensor, its age might warrant Samsung to explore further advancements in smartphone photography.
As in previous years, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are expected to feature a triple camera setup, including a main, an ultra-wide, and a 3x telephoto. The Galaxy S25 Ultra should come with four cameras; adding on top of those is another telephoto camera with 5x zoom.
