Galaxy A16 Launched with Six Android OS Updates and IP54 Rating

Samsung finally announced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A16 5G, in India. Initially, the brand unveiled the device a couple of days ago in the Netherlands.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is the first mid-range device to receive six years of long-lasting software support. The company offered the device in two variants based on memory, including 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.
Samsung offered three color options for the Galaxy A16 5G device, which are as follows:
- Blue Black, Gold, and Light Green.
The newly launched device features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. To add an extra layer of protection, Samsung offered an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
It has a triple camera setup, which includesa 50MP primary rear camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front side, a 13MP selfie camera is housed. The device is compatible to record 1080p videos at 330 fps and 720p slow-motion videos at 120 fpss.
Samsung powered the device with a Dimensity 6300 chipset, which has two Cortex-A76 CPU cores running at 2.4GHz and six Coretex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz. It has the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU that manages the graphics and gaming. The device runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box.
Samsung priced the 128GB variant at INR 18,999, which is nearly $226. And the 256GB variant is priced at INR 20,999, which is nearly $249. You can grab the device from the company’s online store or the Samsung India website.
