Samsung has already started rolling out the October 2024 security update to the eligible Galaxy devices; however, due to covering a wide range of phones, the company is still pushing the update to the left-over Galaxy models.

In this series, the Galaxy S20 series, A15 and A23 are getting the October 2024 security patch for the first time, alongside Galaxy tablets, including Galaxy Tab A9+, Tab S8+, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 FE in the US region; meanwhile, the update for all the aforementioned devices is available on the Verizon network.

To begin with the Samsung Galaxy S20 series in particular, which is getting the October patch for the first time, the carrier-locked Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra carry the G981VSQSBHXJ3G986USQSBHXJ3, and G988USQSBHXJ3 firmware versions.

Alternatively, the Samsung Galaxy A23 and Galaxy A15 are also getting the same inaugural update that comes with the A236VSQS6DXJ3 and A156USQS4BXJ2 version numbers.

Apart from these, the Verizon carrier-locked Galaxy Tab S8+, Tab S9+, Tab S9 FE, and Tab A9+ are also refreshing with the October patch; however, they have already received the X808USQS7CXJ7X818USQS4BXJ7X518USQS7BXJ2, and X218USQS3CXJ2 version numbers.

Though the October 2024 security update is a minor security patch that is all about bugs and security-related fixes, It brings security and stability to the device behavior, adds optimizations to the overall performance, solves certain known issues, and applies the latest security patches to offer a more secure, stable, smooth, and optimized software experience to the users.
