Samsung is looking forward to expanding its Galaxy lineup by introducing two rugged new additions, named the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro tablet.
Samsung introduced the rugged series, especially for users who worked in industrial areas like construction and manufacturing, since these devices can withstand tough conditions. Now, according to the reports from GalaxyClub, Samsung is working on two new rugged devices, including the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro tablet.
The company started the Xcover series in 2011 and has been consistently updated with new models. However, since 2020, it has introduced a dedicated Xcover Pro line, releasing both regular and Pro variants.
Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Xcover 7 as the successor to the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, which was launched last year. By this prospect, we can assume that the next Xcover Pro model will be launched in 2025, and the new report suggests the same.
According to the report, under the hood, Samsung is working on a new device with the model number SM-G766B. The model number hints at the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro since the Xcover 7 has an SM-G556B model number and its predecessor Xcover 6 Pro was SM-G736B.
Apart from the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro, the company is also working on another new model in the rugged Galaxy Tab Active tablet series, potentially named the Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro. This tablet is expected to follow a similar release pattern as the Xcover series, alternating between regular and Pro models. Noticeably, the source did not mention the model number of the potential Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro device.
