New previews of One UI 7 based on Android 15 are coming out right now. We were able to preview a recent version of the highly anticipated new Samsung release, revealing details about the lock screen, notifications, multitasking, potential beta release date, and the smooth animations. Even though the test program should start soon, we can see more sneak peeks at the new features and how they will look.
One UI 7.0 Revealed: Everything We Know From the Latest Leak
At the Samsung Developer Conference, the company “disadposed” users of Galaxy smartphones and tablets by saying that One UI 7 would not be available until at least the beginning of 2025. However, over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a number of previews ready for the start of the public beta program, which we won’t see in Italy anyway. And thanks to Android Headlines, more interesting information has come to light in the last few hours.
We already know that One UI 7 will have new icons. In the short video below, we can get a close look at them and quickly compare them to the ones we already have. We can also get a quick look at the lock screen and the new smart messages. It looks like Samsung is making icons that are even easier to recognize, which is different from what Google is doing.
After the new update, you’ll be able to use a Circle that works even better and a Google search feature. Samsung devices will have access to the features announced at the last Google I/O. This means that you can use AI to get help with your history homework as well as math and physics questions. As a way to help, Google will be able to show movies, step-by-step instructions, and results without having to switch apps.
Next, the One UI 7 will introduce new parental control features. Parents will be able to let their kids use certain sites and apps while blocking others they don’t want them to use. It will also be possible to check on the kids’ actual locations to make them feel safer.
From a photography point of view, One UI 7 with Android 15 will have Live Effects, a feature that uses AI to add depth to portraits or edit them; many artistic effects created by AI will be available to change photos and make them stand out on social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and X; and new options for the Draft on Image function (which was added from the One UI 6.1.1 view on the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Fold Z6).
Samsung aims to enhance the Energy Score feature in the new version of Android 15. Samsung first introduced this feature on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. The maker will add some updates that will make it even more useful. These updates will help users learn more about how certain habits affect health and daily life, and they will also include wellness tips that will help them get a better score every day.
The test program for One UI 7 might start next month, maybe around the time of the Samsung Developer Conference Korea on November 21, 2024. Samsung has said that we will have to wait until the Galaxy S25 line comes out in early 2025 to get the stable version.
