Samsung Introduces Next-Generation Bixby for Galaxy Smartphones
Samsung expanded its virtual assistant, Bixby, by making it more advanced via powering large language models (LLMs).
Samsung recently debuted two new foldable phones in the Chinese market named the W25 and W25 Flip. The notable novelty of the phone is the latest version of Bixby, which utilizes large language models (LLMs).
The latest Bixby is capable of understanding natural language and context, which permits users to give it multiple commands in just a single sentence. However, this latest version of Bixby is already available on some new high-end Samsung appliances.
Samsung has customized the new Bixby so that it can understand complex queries and provide context-aware responses. Now if you ask, “It’s cloudy outside. What should I wear to work today?” then it will suggest appropriate clothing based on the forecast. If you inquire about travel time, then it will be understood you are referring to your workplace and offer directions and an estimated arrival time.
Bixby can also offer a detailed, step-by-step process for performing tasks on your Galaxy phone and can also access details from phone apps, such as calendar events, to answer specific questions. It can also understand exactly what’s on the screen and offer contextual help, and it can search the screen for location information and then use the maps application to start navigation.
Although, for now, the latest version of Bixby is only available on the W25 and the W25 Flip in China, it’s expected that soon the brand will make it available in more regions.
