Samsung and Apple are strong rivals in the tech industry, but now Samsung is planning to help Apple produce an affordable Vision Pro XR headset.

The Korean tech giant Samsung is looking forward to helping Apple produce a cheaper Vision Pro XR headset. According to a report, Apple may use Samsung’s W-OLED+CF panels in future versions of its Vision Pro headset.

The standard model uses an expensive advanced OLEDoS display from Sony, which increases the device’s cost. This time to settle the cost, Apple might ditch Sony over Samsung for its next Vision Pro display.

Apple is struggling with its Vision Pro headset due to its high price, which results in low sales and an overstock of inventory. Now to deal with this issue, Apple is reportedly working with Samsung to produce a more affordable alternative.

According to a report, Apple is planning to use Samsung’s W-OLED+CF (White OLED with Color Filter) panels for the next-generation Vision Pro headset. The reason behind this move is just to reduce the higher cost, as these panels are less expensive to produce.

However, Samsung’s present technology limits the achievable pixel density, which is efficiently lower than the original Vision Pro’s display. Apple is aggressively working to balance between cost and performance in this next iteration. It remains to see exactly how much cost could decrease after using Samsung’s W-OLED+CF panels.
