Samsung might consider manufacturing Exynos chipsets with TSMC

While Samsung announces that the mid-range Galaxy A56 will be powered with the company’s in-house Exynos chipset on one hand, the company seems to be looking forward to shaking hands with TSMC to manufacture Galaxy phones with the Exynos chipset as well.

That’s exclusive! Via a leak shared by the reliable tipster Jukanlosreve on Xasserting that Samsung Foundry is looking towards manufacturing its Galaxy devices powered with an in-house Exynos chipset with TSMC.

However, it’s not clearly stated about exactly what Galaxy phones will be manufactured with this chipset. In contrast, Samsung had faced some hurdles due to low yields of the 3nm-based Exynos 2500 chipsets, while it’s already in the news that Samsung will feature its forthcoming Galaxy S25 series with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and not the Exynos 2500 chipset.

Alternatively, Samsung Foundry badly struggled against TSMC’s increase in the market share, while it was also reported that the company had to discard several chips due to quality issues. Thus, Samsung Foundry looks steepy against TSMC, as it fails to catch up the brilliance of TSMC in any aspect.

Given the consideration of Samsung for manufacturing its in-house Exynos chipset with TSMC process, it remains doubtful whether the company is actually making this a reality in the future. However, such leaks couldn’t be considered true, at least until Samsung itself confirmed it.
