Samsung introduces its improved generative AI model in SDC24 Korea

Samsung hosted its highly-anticipated Samsung Developer Conference Korea 2024 (SDC24) keynote that significantly showcased the company’s vision for the latest software innovations for the future of the entire Galaxy ecosystem. The latest 2nd generation AI model, Samsung Gauss 2, was the center of attraction in this keynote!

The 11th iteration of Samsung’s annual conference most prominently unveiled the company’s 2nd generation proprietary AI model while also highlighting its improved performance, efficiency, and other possibilities.

Following up the internal generative AI model introduced last year, Samsung Gauss 2 is a much more improved version with regards to the performance and efficiency. It is a multimodal language model that supports diversified needs in three distinctive criteria, including compact, balanced, and supreme, while also integrating language, code, and images.

Samsung has developed Gauss 2 by stabilizing large language models (LLMs) in order to offer more efficiency for the supported languages.

While supporting 9 to 14 languages and several programming languages, the Balanced and Supreme model of Samsung Gauss 2 is meant to perform superior, with an impressive processing speed of 1.5 to 3 times faster per hour, in generating quick AI responses in different languages, including English and Korean.

Alternatively, Samsung also aims to improve the overall productivity and performance by integrating Samsung Gauss 2 and highlights its focus in the software incorporated in generative AI, software platforms, IoT, healthcare, communications, and data. Taking the AI for All vision a step further to expand AI-based services across its entire products for a more convenient and immersive experience.
