Samsung is looking forward to regaining market share with its forthcoming 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset and potential orders from Qualcomm and Nvidia in 2026.
Samsung foundry is struggling with a tough time since it has lost a few major clients to arch-rival TSMC due to poor 3nm yields. Although, despite a downfall, the company is still enthusiastic about regaining market share with its upcoming Exynos 2600 based on a 2nm process and possible orders from Qualcomm and Nvidia in 2026.
The Korean tech giant, though a leading player in the semiconductor industry, lags behind TSMC in market share. TSMC dominance and Samsung’s recent 3nm yield issues have further broadened the gap between both brands.
However, even after starting 3nm mass production after Samsung, TSMC to stand strong instantly secured better yields and won large-scale manufacturing contracts from several major companies. It’s rumored that the entire Galaxy S25 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead of the Exynos 2500, and the reason behind this is the failure of Samsung’s 3nm chipset.
Despite these setbacks, The Korean Giant still stands strong, as it’s optimistic about its future and is working to improve its 3nm production process. If this report comes true, then the company aims to introduce a 2 nm chipset in 2026, and maybe the Exynos 2600 will be the first 2 nm-based mobile chipset. It has yet to be clear whether Samsung will power the Galaxy S26 series by Exynos 2600.
