Android Auto Owners are Facing a Weird Bug that Adds “Oh” When Reading Aloud Text Messages
Android Auto is Google’s best yet smart service that allows Android smartphone owners to use their phone while driving via text-to-speech on their car’s dashboard for managing messages. But recently, a new report flashed that a weird bug is causing users to hear the “oh” sound at the end of the messages on Android Auto.
According to Android Authority via 9to5Google, a few Android Auto users shared their report on the Reddit platform, suggesting that for the last few weeks, when getting Android Auto to read all the text messages aloud, it’s adding an unneeded word “oh” to the end of the message, which is strange.
Alternatively, this weird behavior of Android Auto seems to be appearing with specifically WhatsApp, alongside Teams, Facebook, and even Google Messages. Thus, with the number of reports coming up, it significantly confirms that this bug is eventually widespread.
Meanwhile, this could severely get people into trouble as Android Auto is adding a superfluous “oh” at the end of the messages when reading aloud and might result in another meaning for the message rather than what it’s actually meant. Also, it’s better to have a thorough look at what the message is saying until you reach your final destination.
As of now, it’s not clear that this weird bug of Android Auto reading aloud the “Oh” word at the end of every message is from Google’s own Android Auto support forums’ side or could be from the side of synthesized voices, as it sounds more like humans when adding hesitation sounds. It is still awaited how Google will acknowledge this bug and implement a solution to the problem.
