Google’s patches within the new Android Security Bulletin that integrates the December 2024 package bring several CVE items. These include 6 critical CVEs and 28 high-level CVEs, with one CVE already included in previous updates, while one CVE item is not applicable to Samsung devices.

Accompanied by all the aforementioned security patches by Google, the newest security bulletin also brings Samsung Semiconductor patches with 2 high-level CVE items. At the same time, Samsung Mobile further adds its own 8 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs) items that ensure improved system security while also providing additional safety to the users.

Alternatively, Samsung’s SVEs consist of various items while also improving the functionalities of Settings, SmartSwitch, DeX Mode, ThemeCenter, Smart Touch Call, Gaming Hub, and Quick Share Agent for a more enhanced performance for the Galaxy owners.

Moreover, Samsung has already detailed the latest Android security bulletin for the December month, while it will soon begin rolling out to all the eligible models, from high-end flagships to mid-tier phones.

Also, another key highlight of this bulletin is that Samsung has now ended the software support for the Galaxy A42 5G model, and thus, from now on, it will not receive a single software update further. Additionally, the Galaxy A16 4G has now been added to Samsung’s SMR list under the quarterly security update section.
