Google’s Quick Share now integrates transferring files via QR Code, rolls out widely

The Quick Share feature allows users to easily send or receive files across their devices; this is something that’s already available in Samsung Galaxy devices. Now, Google seems to borrow the functionality, and with that, it’s finally arriving in Android smartphones, other than Samsung, but with a new QR Code feature.

A few months back it was reported that Google is allegedly transforming an old feature, Quick Share, which was earlier called Nearby Share.

However, Google is taking Quick Share from Samsung by adding a small twist to it that will allow Android users to transfer or receive photos, videos, and other files or documents via a QR code. On the opposite side, it was already rumored that Google is preparing to add QR code functionality into the Quick Share feature in non-Samsung devices.

Google has now begun rolling out the QR Code function in Quick Share more widely to all the Android owners, while if the phone is on the latest Android version, users will receive the feature shortly. Also, this feature might not be available for all the users for now; thus, Android users can manually check via the Google Play Services update.

Simultaneously, the key highlight of Quick Share’s QR Code function is that it significantly reduces the hustle to add people as contacts, verify devices, and change the device’s default sharing settings, making it more convenient for the users.

Therefore, to send files or any other documents and media, people will be simply required to choose the media files that they want to share, then tap the QR code and let it get scanned with the person whom they want to ensure a safe and secure transfer.
