Samsung One UI 7 Skips These Two Key Features

Samsung released the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series in selected regions with dozens of impressive features and improvements. Still, it lacks two expected novelties, including App Lock and Dark Mode Icons.

Initially, it was rumored that Samsung would enhance security by offering a convenient feature called App Lock with the latest Android 15-based One UI 7, but that’s not the case since the One UI 7 beta didn’t include it.

One UI 7.0 Misses the Mark with No App Lock or Dark Mode Icons

Instead of a dedicated app lock functionality, Samsung offers app-locking through the Secure Folder feature, which lets you store applications, photos, videos, and other files in a separate, encrypted space. Somewhere, how it consumes time as compared to App Lock.

Apart from the dedicated App Lock, One UI 7 also lacks Dark Mode icons. It was reported that Samsung could adopt the Dark Mode icon in One UI 7 beta similar to what Apple implemented in iOS 18, which automatically adjusts for a seamless user experience.

Although currently Samsung has released the first beta and has yet to release more betas & the stable version, it might be possible for the company to offer the expected App Lock and Dark Mode Icons with the stable version.
