While Samsung Galaxy S24 series owners are testing the long-awaited Android 15-based One UI 7 beta program, non-beta testers have started getting the December 2024 security update in South Korea.

The security patch is a minor update that brings fixes for critical and high-level CVEs, but it doesn’t mention any significant changes or features. Rather, the update further introduces various fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that are addressed in the previous version to offer a secure experience to the users while also protecting the device from external threats.

The December 2024 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra has begun to roll out in the company’s home country, South Korea, and is marked as the S921NKSS5AXKAS926NKSS5AXKA, and S928NKSS5AXKA firmware versions.

Alternatively, since there’s nothing new or major introduced with the new security patch, the update further adds stability to the system behavior, brings certain performance optimizations, improves security to protect devices against potential attacks, and applies the latest security patches for a smooth and optimized user experience.

Moreover, the bigger update, the stable One UI 7 version, is yet to arrive sometime in early 2025 with the Galaxy S25 lineup, while Samsung has just released the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, which brings some impressive yet notable features such as NowBar for dynamic notifications on the lock screen, call transcript in 20 languages, a revamped camera layout, and improved Knox security.
