Samsung has again shifted its focus on delivering the December 2024 security update for the smartphones right after starting the One UI 7 beta 2 rollout for the Galaxy S24 series in certain selected regions. Now, the Galaxy S21 series has been receiving the patch in another region.

Previously rolled out in the US, the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are receiving the December 2024 security update in Europe and can be recognized with the G991BXXSEGXK1G996BXXSEGXK1, and G998BXXSEGXK1 firmware versions.

Although the December Android security update only weighs 261.87MB, it seems to be a minor bug-fixing patch that comes with plenty of key improvements to the system security by adding fixes for the vulnerabilities addressed in the previous version while also improving the overall safety that helps users to have a more secure experience and protects the Galaxy devices against certain potential threats.

Alternatively, the update further adds stability and reliability to the overall system behavior, brings certain performance optimizations, applies the latest security patches, and delivers much-improved features that allow users to have a more stable, smooth, and optimized performance and functionality.

Moreover, the December security patch is currently live in Europe and the US; thus, the Galaxy S21 lineup owners can now install the latest version on their Galaxy phones when available.
