
Samsung’s December 2024 security update has already hit several Galaxy smartphones so far; meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 series has started getting the update; however, users can’t expect anything interesting with the latest patch.
The update for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently rolling out in the US and is available for both the carrier-locked and unlocked units. Simultaneously, being a minor security and bug-fixing patch, the update significantly packs various fixes and improvements for the security vulnerabilities, with no new features.

The firmware has been marked for Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra with the S901USQS7EXK9, S906USQS7EXK9, and S908USQS7EXK9 build numbers for the locked (Comcast, T-Mobile, USCellular, Dish Wireless, and Spectrum mobile) units, while the unlocked Galaxy S22 models come with S901U1UES7EXK9, S906U1UES7EXK9, and S908U1UES7EXK9 version numbers, respectively.
It improves the system security while also protecting the device against potential attacks. Alternatively, the update further adds stability to the system behavior, applies the latest security patches, and delivers much-improved features for efficient functionality, bringing several performance optimizations for a smooth, stable, and optimized user experience.
Moreover, the December patch for the Galaxy S22 lineup is currently going live in the US and Europe, marking the imminent arrival of the update to more regions.
