On 5th December, Samsung finally kicked off the most awaited Android 15-based One UI 7 version, which is currently available for beta testing for the Galaxy S24 series. Although the older flagships, the S23 and S22 units are eligible to get the beta version of the latest Android skin, a new report suggests that Samsung might drop the plan to release the One UI 7 beta to these older series models.
Samsung has already surpassed its usual release schedule of new Android skin iterations, and thus, the roadmap of beta builds seems slightly confusing, at least for now.
While the stable One UI 7 rollout is already scheduled to arrive alongside the upcoming Galaxy flagships, the Galaxy S25, rumors already hint that the company might plan not to provide beta builds for the older generation models.
Samsung Might Skip One UI 7 Beta Program for Popular Older Galaxy Phones
Taking the recent report of FamilyTaes into consideration, previous generation models, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy A series units, might not be preferred to test One UI 7 beta, and thus, they might not get any beta program. Alternatively, Samsung has currently shifted the One UI 7 beta 3 rollout for the Galaxy S24 series, which was about to commence on 23rd December, and now it’s believed that the third beta will be released next week.
In spite of that, the leaker further gave the assumption that Samsung could release 2-3 beta versions at maximum after processing the third One UI 7 beta. Thus, this hints that the Galaxy S24 series may receive the 4th beta, followed by the 5th one in January, 2025 too.
Therefore, we are already at the edge of this year’s end, with two One UI 7 beta builds currently going through the testing phase. Simultaneously, Samsung will be releasing its next flagships, the S25 series, which will come with the stable One UI 7 on board, and so the company will be too late due to several beta testing builds.
Thus, if such rumors are to be entirely believed, it may happen that Samsung is likely to consider not expanding the One UI 7 beta to the older Galaxy S23, S22, S21, and Galaxy A series units.
