Samsung Galaxy Users May Soon Access Call Summarize Feature

Samsung introduced various useful features with last year’s One UI 6.1 iteration within its highly praised Galaxy AI suite. One of them was the inclusion of transcription and summary functions; however, the summarize tool was only limited to voice recordings and not while calling. Now, new reports suggest that this may change in the near future.

While the Summarize function is still only limited to the voice recording app and doesn’t work for calls, with the One UI 7 version, the Call Transcription feature has been added that works on both when recording voice and calling. But the Summaries feature could make its way to calls.

According to the recent reports (via Android Authority), when searching in the Samsung Voice Recorder app’s latest version 21.5.70.78, a few code strings have been discovered that point out the fact that Galaxy smartphone owners may soon be able to summarize their calls as well, which is great.

Meanwhile, with the reference of the new code strings, it states that before summarizing any call, the call requires a transcription. Alternatively, the transcription process will be conducted online for creating a summary, while users will have the option to enable “Process data only on device” if they are not comfortable with the data that is to be processed online.

Apart from this, Samsung will not store any data after processing. Since the call summaries will be based on AI processing, it’s expected that the company will offer more improved call transcriptions. Earlier, the call transcriptions feature received the support of 20 languages for the people across the world.
