Samsung is aggressively working on making 2025 countable for the firm by introducing more innovative technologies and products. It is highly anticipated to bring the Qi2 wireless charging standard with its coming flagship series.

Recently, Samsung confirmed the official date to host the Galaxy Unpacked event at which it will debut the Galaxy S25 series. The lineup will include, as usual, three variants, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, which are expected to feature Qi2 wireless charging as WPC hinted.

The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which has developed the Qi2, now hints that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone will have Qi2 wireless charging since the Galaxy S25 series is the first in the line, so most probably it will have this standard.

Regarding this, WPC has issued a new press release about the expansion of the Qi2 wireless charging standard and mentioned a statement on behalf of Samsung: “The exceptional Qi2 growth story will continue in 2025. You can expect to see Android devices supporting Qi2 from Samsung Galaxy devices in 2025.”

However, Samsung has yet to release an official statement on whether the Galaxy S25 series will be the first to feature Qi2. The new Qi2 charging offers faster 25W charging but also has magnets that permit you to attach any compatible accessory to a device.
