Samsung is setting up to expand its mid-range Galaxy A-series by debuting the Galaxy A36 5G device by the end of the first quarter, and the US variant of the device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon chipset.
Currently, Samsung is quite busy hosting the Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 January at which it will debut the Galaxy S25 series. It’s expected that after the event, the company could release the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 sometime in March.
The Galaxy A36 has already spotted various certifications, and now the US variant of the device made its existence on the Geekbench database with the dedicated model number SM-A366U along with an octa-core SoC.

The certification revealed that the device will be available in at least 6GB of RAM variant and run Android 15 out of the box. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s chipset, and potentially, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. According to the database, the single-core device scored 967, and the multi-core scored 2,750 points.
However, Samsung has yet to confirm the exact specifications of the device including the chipset, so it remains to see which chipset will power the coming Galaxy A36 device.
