Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 Series Receive First Software Update of 2025

Not only Galaxy smartphones, Samsung has started rolling out the latest security patches to its wearables as well. The new update hit the Galaxy Watch 6 series and Galaxy Watch 7 a couple of days ago, and now, the update is progressing further for the Watch 5 and Watch 4 lineup models.
While the updates are essential for smooth functionality, the first-ever software update rollout of 2025 has begun for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series and is now available for the LTE models. This update is currently spotted in South Korea, which will expand to more regions soon.

Specifically, the new software for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro (LTE units) comes with the R905NKOU1CXL1 and R925NKOU1CXL1 version numbers, while the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic (LTE models) have the R865NKOU1DXL1 and R895NKOU1DXL1 build numbers.
Although the changelog of this newest update is not aligned to list any major features or changes, it significantly brings a lot of stability to the overall functionality and performance of Galaxy watches in order to provide stable behavior. At the same time, the update further integrates the same October 2024 security patch that adds an additional layer of security to provide a secure user experience.
Moreover, the new update mentioned above is now available for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 series owners; they can either check for the update or manually install the latest version via the Galaxy Wearable app.
