Samsung Says Goodbye to Bixby, Introduces Gemini AI on Galaxy S25

The newly launched Galaxy S25 series lives up to expectations in terms of new advanced innovation, including a new default digital assistant, Gemini.
During the leaks and rumors phase, it was reported that Samsung would introduce the next-generation Bixby with the latest Galaxy S25 series; however, this didn’t come true as Samsung has replaced Bixby with Google Gemini as the default digital assistant.
Samsung replaced Bixby with Google Gemini as the default digital assistant on Galaxy S25 Series
Samsung with the Galaxy S25 series replaced the Bixby with the Google Gemini as the default digital assistant, which seems a significant change as it shows that the company is quite active in abandoning its digital assistant in favor of a more popular and capable one.

Before taking this replacement step, Samsung put enough effort into upgrading the Bixby, but it failed to introduce a leading virtual assistant, and one of the reasons behind this is Google Gemini.
Now Bixby is no longer the default on the Galaxy S25; it’s not entirely gone. Noticeably, users can still choose to use Bixby by holding down the power button, as the Galaxy S25 allows you to choose which assistant to invoke.
Regarding this, Samsung stated that Bixby will become a foundational technology powering other AI-driven applications and services within the Samsung ecosystem, but Gemini AI will be in the focus as Samsung’s primary AI assistant. Gemini is undergoing efficient upgrades, making it a more competitive and vital essential AI solution, even within the realm of voice assistants.
