Galaxy S26 and S26+ Main Camera Could Have New 50MP Sensor

Samsung is supposed to debut the next-generation flagship series, the Galaxy S26 series, next year and now is testing a new 50MP main camera for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+.

Last week, Samsung launched the latest Galaxy S25 series with an upgraded camera setup as it offered an upgraded 50MP ultrawide lens. Now the brand is looking forward to upgrading the camera setup for its future flagship series.

The Galaxy S26 series is supposed to include three variants: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now a new report suggests that Samsung is rumored to be upgrading the main cameras on the entire Galaxy S26 lineup.

The Ultra variant of the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, might get an enhanced 200MP sensor, and the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are reportedly being tested with 50MP main sensors. The older 10MP 3x zoom lens is also still being tested for inclusion.

A tipster, @PandaFlashPro, shared a post on X claiming that the company is currently testing the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ with an upgraded 50MP main camera. However, detailed information regarding the new sensor is not available for now, but the new camera should deliver notable improvements in image quality.

Recently, it was also rumored that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a 200MP telephoto camera. However, Samsung hasn’t released any official word regarding this report, so it remains to see whether this report will come true.
