One UI 8 Could Launch Earlier Than Anticipated—Faster Than One UI 7?

Samsung has yet to start expanding the Android 15-based One UI 7 to its older Galaxy devices; meanwhile, a report hints at the One UI 8 release.

Initially, Samsung initiated the Android 15 (One UI 7) beta program for the Galaxy S24 series in early December of last year. Since then, they have released three beta updates, and they are currently planning to release the OneUI 7 beta 4 next week.

Last month, the company unveiled the official One UI 7, based on Android 15, for the Galaxy S25 series. Meanwhile, it has recently released the cheapest Galaxy F06 smartphone, which comes pre-installed with One UI 7, while the older flagship devices are still under development.

Still, there’s no official confirmation regarding the stable One UI 7 rollout to older Galaxy devices and a reliable tipster, Ice Universe claiming that One UI 8 based on Android 16 will arrive sooner than the previous expectations.

On the comparison side, Google already revealed that it will roll out the stable Android 16 by the end of Q2 2025. Usually, Samsung rolls out its major One UI X update just a month after the latest Android OS release, so by this prospect, the One UI 8 should arrive at least in early Q3 this year.

The tipster recently asserted that One UI 8 will launch earlier than anticipated, but they did not provide a specific release date. Since Samsung has yet to expand One UI 7, it will be interesting to see how the company will manage to roll out two major updates on time.
