No Premium Perks? Samsung Treats Budget and Flagship Phones Alike

Samsung has released its latest affordable device, the Galaxy F06, in India. With this device, the company has astonished every Galaxy user by integrating the One UI 7 into the phone before releasing other flagship devices.Apart from the software enhancements, the Korean giant has also been surprised with the 25W charging support for midrange devices similar to the Galaxy S25. Is it a good move from Samsung? Let’s find out
Is Samsung Trolling its Flagship Phones?
Samsung has followed the same 25W charging speed from the Galaxy S20 or later S Series base model like latest Galaxy S25 flagships and also introduced the same speed for its premium A series devices. However, now, with the Galaxy F06 have same charging speed in the most affordable range, which may tease potential buyers of the Galaxy S25, who expect everything to be high-end and provide value for money.
While the 25W charging speed is solid for a $110 price budget phone like the Galaxy F06 5G, it’s surprising (and perhaps disappointing) that Samsung’s premium flagship device, the Galaxy S25 (Base), also uses the same charging technology. Charging speed is one of the areas where premium phones are expected to outshine budget models, yet in this case, users who invest in Samsung’s higher-end models might feel let down by the fact that they aren’t getting a noticeably faster charge despite the steep price difference.
Given that competitors like OnePlus and Xiaomi are pushing faster charging speeds (sometimes up to 120W or more), Samsung’s decision to keep both budget and flagship models at the 25W mark might leave customers questioning the value they are receiving for their money. For a phone priced at $800, customers typically expect premium features, but in this case, they are stuck with what is now a rather commonplace charging speed.
Are there any good aspects hidden behind this?
Samsung always aims to bring innovation to its Galaxy devices, at least for its flagship. Still, it is worth noticing that the company has stuck to the 25W charging for many years, but there is the extreme possibility that this will be changed from next year. As we already heard about, the new battery technology is silicon carbon, which will bring more flexibility for Samsung to increase charging speed and battery capacity. According to the information, this technology could arrive with the Galaxy S26 series.
