Samsung with the latest Galaxy S25 series integrated Gemini with its Galaxy AI suite to enhance user experience. Now one of its competitors Apple is rumored to planning to adopt the same strategy.
According to a new report, Apple is planning to adopt Samsung’s approach of integrating Gemini into its dedicated AI suite (Apple Intelligence) on iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Samsung’s Galaxy AI includes dozens of features some of which are powered by Google’s Gemini.
A developer Aaron Paris on X (via) shared a post claiming that he has discovered the code of iOS 18.4 beta includes both Google and OpenAI as third-party AI model options for Apple Intelligence and Siri, which seems similar to what Samsung did with its voice assistant.
If this report comes true then it will be proved that Apple adopted Samsung’s strategy by integrating Google’s Gemini into its voice assistant. It was reported that the Korean tech giant ditched its dedicated voice assistant Bixby as it introduced Gemini AI as its default digital assistant on the Galaxy S25 series.
However, before replacement, Samsung put enough effort into upgrading the Bixby, which didn’t come with positive results and failed to introduce a leading virtual assistant. It remains to see whether Apple will adopt the ditto Samsung’s approach like it ditched Bixby fully or will integrate differently.
