No One UI 7.1 or 7.1.1 – Samsung Moves Directly to One UI 8.0

Samsung has been continuously working on its current new Android 15-based One UI 7.0 software for so long, and its next version is anticipated to be One UI 8.0. This means there’s no iteration in the middle of these two versions.

Usually, Samsung rolls out any of its One UI X software updates in three versions: One UI X.0, One UI X.1, and One UI X.1.1. However, this time the company seems to have ditched its ritual by skipping two versions.

Ice Universe claiming that the next version of One UI 7.0 is One UI 8.0. This suggests that the company is not planning to release the One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1 updates.

Samsung started the One UI 7 beta program in December 2024 for the Galaxy S24 series and has released a total of four beta updates yet. It is still anticipated to roll out the fifth beta any time soon. Earlier this year, the company introduced the latest flagship Galaxy S25 series, which comes pre-installed with Android 15 (One UI 7). Later, the company launched the cheapest Galaxy F06 and more devices powered with the Android 15-based One UI 7, whereas the older flagship devices are waiting for the update.

Meanwhile, a few new One UI 7 beta builds were spotted on the test server for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S23 devices. This hints that the company could expand the beta program to these devices also.

Since Samsung has yet to release an official statement regarding this, it will be interesting to see what will happen next.
