One UI 7

Looks like One UI 7’s Now Brief running on older Galaxy devices, Here’s how

Indeed Samsung raised the Galaxy S25 series with numerous interactive Galaxy AI features, and being powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset makes the device’s on-device processing power more advanced and superior.

Among various other AI functions, Now Brief, which is exclusively running on the S25 models, could come to older devices, as recent reports suggest.

Although it was claimed that Samsung is not eager to expand the Now Brief feature to the other older Galaxy devices, as this functionality significantly requires an advanced chip with a power-efficient NPU, which is currently available in Galaxy S25 smartphones due to the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Meanwhile, a user via X recently shared that it seems possible to run the Now Brief feature on older Galaxy devices other than the Galaxy S25 series. He further posted a few screenshots of his Galaxy S23+ device that was actively running Now Brief through the device’s lock screen.

Alternatively, the users created a short tutorial, suggesting how to force One UI 7’s Now Brief feature to run on devices other than Galaxy S25 models. This can be done by sideloading the Smart Suggestions app (v7.0.03.2) from APK Mirror. Then users will be required to set up and complete the entire access process of SystemUI Tuner, while also setting up Now Brief’s activity as a lock screen shortcut.

However, by analyzing the screenshots, the Now Brief feature doesn’t look like a full-fledged version, but eventually it’s expected that Samsung may upgrade this Galaxy AI feature within older Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S23 or even the S24 series.
