Galaxy S25 series’ on-device AI capabilities will nurture processing locally, thanks to 8 Elite’s excellence

While going with the current AI trend, smartphones have become much smarter and offer convenient features to users. Samsung has been constantly working on advanced AI functionality that enables powerful cloud data processing, with most parts being prepared to run locally on devices. Recently, new reports surprisingly mention that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series’ on-device AI capabilities will nurture data processing locally, thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite’s excellence!
According to the reports presented by the Android Police (spotted via AssembleDebug), the Samsung Galaxy S25 series’ arrival will entirely change the reliance on cloud processing by bringing more advanced on-device AI functionalities.
From now on, Galaxy smartphones will begin to process generative AI photo editing locally on the device, using the vast yet powerful capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The leaker reviewed the recently generated code and significantly found that Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (with code sm-8750) was mentioned with three AI-powered tools integrated into the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
Alternatively, among these three tools, a different naming scheme came into light, the FEATURE_GEN_EDIT_ON_DEVICE, which eventually probably allows users to process generative AI photo editing on the Galaxy S25 series without requiring sending images to the cloud for boosting speed, convenience, and privacy.
While ditching the cloud is a major requirement, more AI functionalities are coming to the new Galaxy S25 series, increasing flexibility via on-device processing that helps in improving the overall Galaxy AI performance. On the other hand, with regards to several reports, Samsung seems to be all set to equip Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset to the entire models of its upcoming Galaxy S series, the S25.
