Samsung has disappointed a lot of its users in terms of major software availability for the devices, the One UI 7 is still in the beta stage for lot of devices. However, it seems like the company could bring the next major software update, One UI 8 for the devices.

Yesterday, the Galaxy S25 series’ build number based on One UI 8 also spotted on servers, now moving forward with the development of Android 16 it is expected that Galaxy devices could also get the third-party widget access on the lock screen with the next One UI.

It is worth noticing that, currently, Samsung has limited the access of widgets for lock screen to the first-party application but if the company follows the Google strategy then we will soon get the other application widgets on the lock screen on every eligible Galaxy device.

In detail, Google has stated that with the Android 16 QPR1  the Pixe ld device will allow users to add widgets on the lock screen, it is worth noticing that the company has also declared that it will process the feature for the Android open source so it can be available for other smartphones OEMs as well.
