Samsung is continuing with the March 2025 security update. The update hit Galaxy S22 series devices a few days back; meanwhile, the company is now rolling out the latest patch for its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 lineup, for the first time.

Specifically, the March 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra owners came up with the G991NKSS8GYC1G996NKSS8GYC1, and G998NKSS8GYC1 build numbers, respectively.

The patch is now available in the company’s home country, South Korea, and will soon expand to more eligible regions over the next coming days.

Basically, the security patches are usually small and don’t introduce anything new; meanwhile, the latest software, however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it primarily integrates a lot of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that have been discovered within the previous version in order to offer a more safe and secure user experience, while also protecting Galaxy devices against potential threats.

In addition, the update further brings certain performance optimizations and adds stability to the overall system behavior that eventually leads to more smooth, optimized, and efficient functionality.

Moreover, Samsung has shifted its 2021 S-series flagships from monthly to quarterly security update lists. This means that the lineup is no longer eligible for Samsung’s monthly updates, apparently.
