Samsug Wallet now supports Mobile Driver License in the US

Samsung is upgrading its digital wallet, Samsung Wallet service, by adding mobile driver license support in selected markets.

The Korean tech giant introduced its dedicated digital wallet called Samsung Wallet, which encompasses the features of Samsung Pay. It allows users to store, manage, and access various digital assets, for instance, credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, membership cards, digital keys, and more, all within a single platform with enough security.

Now, the Samsung Wallet also allows the storage of digital driver’s licenses via the “Digital ID” feature and state IDs, offering a convenient and secure way to present identification for various purposes, such as TSA checkpoints and potentially beyond.

A tipster, TheGalox, on X, shared a post revealing that mobile driver licenses are now supported in Samsung Wallet and also listed the regions as mentioned below:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Georgia
  • Iowa
  • Maryland
  • West Virginia

These regions are considered the US’ states. It’s expected that the company will expand the availability of the mobile driver license soon.

Recently, it was reported that Samsung added Tap to Transfer Payments support for Samsung Wallet users in the US, promoting the peer-to-peer payment feature across the country. Now that the company has integrated driver licenses within its payment service, Galaxy users will get a more enhanced experience.
