Samsung Prepares ‘Now Bar’ Improvements for Galaxy S25 in Next Update

While Samsung has offered amazing features for its current flagships, the Galaxy S25 series via the latest Android 15-based One UI 7 version, there’s still something missing.
Since the Galaxy S24 series has successfully integrated the media player within the Now Bar with the One UI 7 beta 6, the S25 smartphones have it but not exactly like the S24 devices.
However, Ice Universe via X reported that the next software update will introduce music player integration within the Now Bar on the status bar!
Basically, the latest One UI 7 beta brought about a lot of significant changes and features for Samsung’s renowned Galaxy S24 series; it not only brought the media player into the Now Bar but also allows the player to take a pill shape in the status bar when the music is playing. Also, tapping on the pill opens up the full-blown music player widget.
However, this functionality is unfortunately absent in the Galaxy S25 series models. The users can easily see the Now Bar running on their device’s lock screen and AOD when the music is playing. But the functionality that allows the music player to take a pill shape just like the S24 series’ Now Bar is what’s missing from the company’s current S series flagships.
Meanwhile, the leaker claimed that the next software update for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will bring the missing One UI 7 Now Bar’s music player into the pill-shaped bar on the status bar, similar to what the S24 lineup owners are enjoying currently.
As far as the leak is concerned, Samsung could possibly provide the feature to the Galaxy S25 series owners with the upcoming April 2025 security patch, as apparently the April patch is only going to be the next update for the Galaxy devices.
