
Samsung expanded its Rugged device family by announcing two new models: Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro. Let’s take a closer look at the newly introduced devices.
The Korean tech giant has powered both the newly launched Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which makes them compatible with handling multitasking smoothly.
Galaxy XCover 7 Pro
The XCover 7 Pro features a 6.6-inch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and supports Vision Booster for better visibility in sunlight & a Touch Sensitivity mode that ensures responsiveness even when used with gloves.
The device runs the latest Android 15-based One UI 7 software version, which includes a few selected Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search, Object Eraser, AI Slect, and Read Aloud. It features a 4,350 mAh user-replaceable battery and is available in a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary and an 8MP ultrawide lens. A 13MP camera is housed on the front side for selfies.
The company will make the device available in a few selected markets later this month, but the US release is set for May 8, 2025. It costs €609 in Europe, which is approximately $690.
Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro
The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro features a 10.1-inch display with a WUXGA TFT LCD and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It has earned MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and IP68 water and dust resistance.
It runs Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box and features a few selected AI tools, including Circle to Search with Google, Object Eraser, AI Select, and Read Aloud. The camera setup includes a 12MP rear camera with flash and an 8MP front camera. It has a massive 10,100 mAh user-replaceable battery with dual hot-swap support.
Samsung offered various connectivity options, such as 5G (Sub6), LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v5.4, and NFC (Front Tagging, AT&T, First Net, CBRS). It also brings more convenient features, like stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an S Pen (IP68-rated), USB 3.2 Type-C, a 3.5mm Audio Jack, and a programmable Active Key.
It is available in two variants based on connectivity (5G+Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi) and storage (6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB). Samsung priced the 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage (Wi-Fi-only) variant at EUR 809 in Europe. Its expected that the exact price details will release soon.
