Google to bring Gemini AI features optimised for Kids

Google is now getting ready to bring the Gemini AI to kids’ Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets who are under 13 years old via the Google Family Link system.

Google is aggressively replacing its older Google Assistant with its newly AI-powered voice assistant, Gemini. Initially, it started this replacement for adults, later then released to teens with Google accounts, then to Education accounts, and now it has announced that it looking forward to kids.

The company has started sending emails that Gemini will be available to them via the Google Family Link System to parents who have kids under 13 years old, from last week. It’s highly anticipated that Gemini will start rolling out this week to kids.

Kids will soon get access to the new AI assistant, Gemini, on their Android devices, including Galaxy phones and tablets, which will help them in various ways, such as creating stories, getting homework help, and more.

However, it will be interesting to see how many parents will be comfortable with their kids using Gemini, since no AI assistant is perfect, and they could probably expose inappropriate content to kids. Regarding parents’ concerns, Google has already started addressing privacy and other concerns surrounding Gemini for Kids. Parents have full control over this replacement, so they can decide whether their kids should use Gemini, as kids under 13 years old are not mature enough to make such judgments.
