Samsung’s One UI 8 May Change the Way Galaxy Phones Feel

It looks like One UI 8 is the new talk of the town, and it came under the spotlight when its first-ever exclusive look came into existence. Since the entire Galaxy family has high hopes for One UI 7, and Samsung has delivered to some extent, here’s all that users might expect from the next OS, One UI 8.
One UI 8 will be running Android 16 on top. At the same time, Google is working hard towards its next major Android OS; thus, it’s safe to consider that Samsung has also started some work on One UI 8 behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, indeed the upcoming One UI 8 build might arrive with superior features that the current One UI 7 version lacked, apparently. A recent report provides a slight idea regarding what should be tossed up from Samsung’s next major OS build.
Well, One UI 8 is still under development. Summarizing every concept, here are a few key aspects where the customizations can be performed:
Now Brief, a new feature for older Galaxy models
Since the first look and, of course, a previous report already revealed that the Galaxy S25 series’ exclusive Now Brief feature might make its way to more older eligible S series flagships and foldables, including the likes of the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and a few others, while the upcoming One UI 8 could make it possible, though.
More specifically, users will now be able to get some personalized and suggestive content in the form of a briefing throughout the day so that they could receive more key information at a glance on their phone’s lock screen. Also, Samsung even says that these personalized insights are entirely secure.
Gallery
One UI 8 may also drive some significant changes and optimizations within the Gallery app. It could make certain menu options more enhanced in order to offer better yet improved usability to the users.
Quick Panel
Since Samsung has already split notifications from the Quick Panel with One UI 7, it is possible that it could receive a few more relevant enhancements with the upcoming build. For example, the tile placement, improved toggles, and better usability with a lot of convenience and customizations so that users can seamlessly switch between notifications and the quick panel at the same time.
Samsung Log Video Support
Samsung Log is a new feature that was first debuted with the Galaxy S25 series; later, Samsung expanded this feature (with One UI 7) for the entire Galaxy S24 family; meanwhile, now with One UI 8, the Samsung Log feature appears to be reaching more older eligible Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Lastly, more improvements in Quick Share
It’s possible that One UI 8 could add more improvements to the Quick Share feature, making your file-sharing experience with other Android devices more advanced and convenient than before. The function now has two new sections, namely Receive and Share. This in turn will prove to be helpful, rather than being dependent on the existing options, which now make the device temporarily visible to others when sharing files.
