One UI 8 improves Background Blur effect in Gallery

Samsung’s latest S series, the Galaxy S25 have already started testing the newest Android 16-based One UI 8 beta program in a few selective countries. Since users have been testing out the latest version, a fresh report arises that suggests a few key improvements in the Gallery app.

Despite noticing various bug fixes, some changes and other enhancements, a user, Theordysm on X just reported that One UI 8 is supposed to introduce a few new functionalities within Samsung’s Gallery app.

More specifically, first up, with One UI 8, the Background blur feature in the Gallery app has been improved, while also fixing the blur transition effect, where users will be able to have a more smooth effect when changing the blur level gradually. Next up, the latest build also integrated the capability to press and hold to see the original image, which will let users to quickly compare the edited image with the original one.

And lastly, One UI 8 has slightly improved the non-linear blur transition effect when quickly changing the blur level. This eventually offers a more improved and smooth blur effect when applying it to the image.
Beyond this, Samsung is working on several other aspects that are supposed to arrive with One UI 8, including more live activity support for Now Bar, improvements to the My Files app, and more. Well, One UI 8 beta program is currently open for the Galaxy S25 family, while more eligible models will follow in the coming future.
