Samsung Galaxy A26 Geekbench Listing Reveals Android 16 (One UI 8)

Samsung has already started extending the One UI 8 beta rollout to more older flagship devices; meanwhile, a mid-range Galaxy A26 was spotted running One UI 8 on Geekbench.

Recently, Samsung released the first One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy S24 seriesGalaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in a few selected markets. Before that, it had already announced the rollout of the beta update to a few Galaxy A-series devices, including Galaxy A35, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A55. However, the Galaxy A26 is not in the list of eligible Galaxy devices for the One UI 8 beta program.

Meanwhile, a tipster on X shared a post, revealing that the Galaxy A26 appeared on the Geekbench database with the dedicated version numbers SM-A266U, running Android 16-based One UI 8. However, the listing does not reveal any specific build version, but the appearance on Geekbench confirms that the company has started internal testing.

The single-core of the device scored 1,015, while the multi-core scored 2,824 points.Since Samsung has already started testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy A26, it suggests that it could get the latest software version once the company starts rolling out the stable version. The exact date for the stable update is yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to arrive sometime in September.
