Samsung Pushes February Security Updates to Galaxy Watch8 and Tab S9 Lineup

Samsung is keeping its update cadence steady in early 2026, with fresh firmware now rolling out to the Galaxy Watch8 series and the Galaxy Tab S9 family.

What the Galaxy Watch8 Update Brings

Owners of the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic in Italy are seeing a new firmware build ending in AZB4. It covers both Bluetooth and LTE variants and weighs in at close to 430 MB, so connecting to Wi-Fi before downloading is a practical move.

The headline change is the February 2026 security patch. Samsung’s February bulletin addresses roughly 40 vulnerabilities in total, spread across Android itself (classified as CVEs) and Samsung’s own One UI layer (classified as SVEs). How many of those apply specifically to Wear OS devices is unclear, but the patch is meaningful regardless. Samsung also notes general stability improvements, though without elaborating on what exactly was fixed.

One timing detail worth noting: this marks the first time security patches have landed on Samsung smartwatches on the 5th of the month, aligning more closely with the smartphone rollout schedule.

Tab S9 Series Gets the Same Treatment

The Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra are picking up the same February patches, with rollout beginning in South Korea. The firmware addresses 25 Android vulnerabilities alongside 12 issues specific to Samsung devices and One UI.

These tablets are also confirmed for the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, though Samsung has not published a timeline yet.

How to Install

For the Tab S9 series, go to Settings, then Software Update, then Download and Install. For the Watch8, open the Galaxy Wearable app, navigate to Watch Settings, then Watch Software Update, and select Install Now.
