As part of a software update, Samsung improved the camera of its latest flagship series, the Galaxy S23 Series. However, according to the previous report, gradually improve the cameras of your older smartphones as well. Individual smartphones should receive individual functions in the coming weeks.

Professional photo and video mode for selfie camera

Samsung enthusiasts, get ready to take your photography game to the next level! In a recent announcement made by a Samsung community moderator, it has been revealed that the Galaxy S22 Series and Galaxy Z Fold4 will soon be equipped with a professional mode for shooting videos and taking selfies. With this new feature, users can expect to have more precise control over camera settings such as exposure, focus, aperture, ISO, and more, all through the Expert RAW application.

Astro Hyperlapse

The Galaxy S22 Series and Galaxy Z Fold4 will also receive Astro Hyperlapse features. This means that users will be able to capture stunning time-lapse videos of the night sky, complete with visible celestial bodies such as stars.

Smoother transition between cameras

Samsung will provide a smoother transition between different camera sensors in the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Flip4. Switching will thus be less disruptive, especially when shooting video.

Improved photo editing

The Galaxy S22, S21, S20, and Note 20 series models and all Z Fold and Z Flip folding smartphones will have the function of editing photos using AI. It can correct distortion, erase reflections or improve GIF images.

Better search in the Gallery app

The Gallery app will be able to use keywords to find what you’re looking for. This update is coming to the same smartphones that were featured in the previous feature.

Automatic framing

The Galaxy S22 series will get the automatic framing feature from the Galaxy S23 series. It can single out people in the frame and digitally zoom in on them to place them in the center. The user can also choose a specific person on whom the camera will focus and frame.

Image Clipper

The Image Clipper feature allows you to cut out a specific person or object from a photo and send/download it as a separate image. In addition to the Galaxy S22 series, it will also come to all Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip devices and every flagship smartphone released since the Galaxy Note 20.

Galaxy S22 One UI 6.1 Update on Hold Due to Potential Boot Issues

Finally, Samsung started distributing the waiting One UI 6.1 update to more Galaxy flagship devices that debuted in 2021 and 2022. Now a total of 19 Galaxy devices have gotten their Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update.

Samsung has added new devices to the list of One UI 6.1, which are as follows:

  • Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Flip 3.

The Galaxy S22 series, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, is on the list of devices getting One UI 6.1, but it appears that Samsung may have delayed the rollout due to errors a few users have faced after updating their smartphones.

It is reported that the rollout was paused because some Galaxy S22 units may fail to boot or unlock after the update has been installed. However, users on the Samsung Community forums in Korea, the only market where One UI 6.1 has been released for now, don’t appear to have run into issues themselves.

However, Samsung has yet to officially confirm that it has paused the rollout and even acknowledged any issues, so at the moment, it’s not exactly confirmed that the update has been taken off the air. The Galaxy S22 series owners who didn’t get the One UI 6.1 update yet might want to wait for more details to come out before proceeding with the installation.

If the users are afraid of the issue and want to avoid the risk, they might consider waiting until the Korean giant fixes these problems before installing the update.

Galaxy S25 Ultra Rumors Hint at No Battery or Charging Upgrades

Published

Samsung has kept the same battery capacity for the flagship devices while also sticking to the same fast charging speed. If we look at the Galaxy S Ultra devices from the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the company has stuck with 45 W charging and the same 5000 mAh battery. According to the latest report, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may also use the same battery and specifications.

Previous, it was rumored that the Galaxy S24 Ultra could be equipped with stacked battery technology, which could lead to maximizing the component cost, but now, according to an X user named Sawyer Galox, it is reported that the Korean giant will skip this hardware change on the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra to save on component cost.

Along with this, the tipster also expressed his disappointment with Samsung’s take on the unchained hardware. He adds that users who want to buy the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra should keep their expectations low with the battery performance, as Samsung will keep the specs the same with the 500mAh battery and the 45W.

However, the company will also introduce its latest device with new chipsets that may provide improved optimization, which may provide some long-lasting battery life, but it will not provide any improvement in charging.

Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6

Samsung is preparing to introduce its next-generation foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, given that the new smartphones in the Z lineup typically launch between July and August, some rumors suggest that the company might host the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024. Despite the date being more than three months away, numerous details have surfaced online.

According to recent reports, Samsung plans to implement its dual chipset strategy for the foldable, mirroring the Galaxy S series lineup, where some models of the Galaxy S base and Galaxy S+ devices feature Snapdragon, while in other markets, they feature Exynos.

The next foldable lineup rumoured to come with multiple chipsets; for example, the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s last Geekbench listing showed that it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. However, this processor is already one year old, so there are fewer expectations that it could be available in the main models. However, if a rumor proves to be accurate, it could potentially be available for the FE variant of the devices.

For your information, the rumors have revealed that Samsung could introduce two new versions of the foldable devices with the brand names ‘FE’ and ‘Ultra‘, so to make the difference, it may introduce them in separate chipsets. If it provides the older chipset for the FE version, then it will be successful in cost-cutting and releasing the device at a low cost.
